Work Site Location: Coeur d' Alene Campus
Work Schedule: Typically 18-19 hours per week. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., or other agreed upon days/hours
Job Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Fleet Services Coordinator, this position is responsible for maintaining, servicing, repairing and/or replacing campus fleet vehicles, trailers, equipment and tools. May perform various office duties as assigned.
Job Duties:
This list includes, but is not limited to the following:
- Assists the Fleet Coordinator with routine scheduled services and inspections on vehicles, landscape equipment and golf carts, on site and remotely.
- Performs daily vehicle inspections and general maintenance, cleans and prepares vehicles for campus use and ensures that fleet vehicles and equipment are in state of readiness at all times.
- Transports and tests various types of equipment including tractors, trucks, dump trucks, man lifts and lawnmowers.
- Fuels campus vehicles and machinery. Reports all mileage from vehicle returns to Senior Administrative Assistant.
- Prices parts, works with Senior Administrative Assistant to create purchase orders and picks up parts.
- Observes and promotes safe work practices and procedures at all times.
- Helps out in other Facilities Operation departments as needed.
- Maintains a positive, helpful, constructive attitude and work relationship with supervisor, college staff, students, and the community.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience : High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of three months full-time related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required License and/or Certifications :
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Basic knowledge of hand tools
• Basic knowledge of electric and pneumatic power tools
• Proficient mechanical aptitude
• Basic knowledge in the use of personal computers and related software applications
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities
• Ability to perform basic mathematical computations
