Job Description:

 

The Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College, City University of New York is seeking applicants for a tenure track faculty position in Information Systems in the Paul H. Chook Department of Information Systems and Statistics. Preference will be given to applicants who conduct research at the intersection of information technology and data science, focusing on public policy, environment/sustainability/governance (ESG), and innovation. This position is part of an interdisciplinary cluster of new faculty with expertise in data sciences across Baruch’s three schools (The Marxe School of Public and International Affairs, Weissman School of Arts and Science, and Zicklin School of Business). This Technology, Cybersecurity, Data science, and Informatics cluster will prepare students to understand the threats and opportunities of the digital world. A strong interdisciplinary data analytics group will conduct high level research while simultaneously suffusing data science across all areas of the Baruch curriculum to improve student employment prospects. Faculty in the Data Science cluster are expected to work collaboratively with one another and with a new Climate Studies cluster. The position is available at the Assistant Professor level only and begins in the Fall semester of 2023.

The Paul H. Chook Department of Information Systems and Statistics offers undergraduate majors and minors in Information Systems (IS) and in Statistics and Quantitative Modeling (SQM), three specialized MS degrees in IS, Statistics, and Quantitative Methods and Modeling and a PhD in IS. It also provides courses for an MS in Business Analytics and the MBA program. Faculty members are highly active in research and have been published in the top journals including MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, and Journal of Management Information Systems, among others. Qualifications:

Applicants must either have or expect completion of Ph.D. in Information Systems or related fields.
