The Zilber School of Public Health seeks outstanding candidates for an Assistant Professor position in our Biostatistics program. The selected candidate will join our faculty in developing a cutting-edge transdisciplinary research and education program to advance statistical inference and data science, methods and discovery for the population health and social health sciences. This position is a 100% hard-funded tenure-track 9-month academic year appointment with competitive salary, attractive benefits and start-up package, and the possibility to generate summer salary.

The candidate must possess a PhD or ScD in Biostatistics or related fields by the time of appointment. We encourage applications from diverse subspecialties; however, priority will be given to candidates with research and teaching interests in longitudinal and multilevel data analysis, latent variable analysis, survival analysis, causal inference, or Bayesian statistics and who share our aspirations for the Zilber School. The successful candidate will be expected to teach graduate and/or undergraduate biostatistics courses; mentor graduate students; develop and/or expand their own externally-funded research program; engage in university and professional service; and collaborate with academic colleagues in the Zilber School and the University, as well as with community partners.

The successful candidate will join our faculty and staff in expanding the biostatistics research and education programs. Zilber School faculty are leading emerging research programs that address public health and health equity from the molecular to the societal levels. Current disciplinary expertise spans maternal and child health; epigenetics; developmental neurobiology and immunotoxicology; environmental toxicology; social and environmental epidemiology; tobacco control, social media, immigrant health, socioeconomic health policies, racial/ethnic segregation, and social and behavioral sciences. Biostatistical research interests of Zilber faculty include functional genomics, bioinformatics, network analysis, machine learning, electronic medical records, risk prediction for chronic diseases, and applied statistics for population health and social and behavioral health sciences.
