Position Summary
The department is establishing a pool of applicants to fill potential part-time temporary teaching positions and full-time visiting faculty position openings. (Please note: FT Visiting positions are rare and they should not be the sole purpose for your application.)
Major Responsibilities
A classroom based 3 credit hour course pays $3250 per class.The department typically hires for the courses/subject areas listed below but this list is not all inclusive. Other courses/subject areas may become available within the department.

LIT 549 – Literacy in the Middle and Secondary School
LIT 560 – Children’s and Young Adult Literature in the Curriculum
LIT 590 – Teaching and Learning Literacy in the Digital Age
LIT 630 – Literacy and Society
LIT 669 – The Literacy Specialist and The Literacy Program

Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in Literacy/Reading Education or related field.
Competency with technological tools
Preferred Qualifications
• Previous experience teaching online courses at the college level
• New York State certification in Literacy/Reading.
• Doctorate in Literacy/Reading Education or related field.
• At least three years of B-12 teaching of reading.
