The Department of Religion and Philosophy at High Point University invites applications for a non-tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Jewish Studies and/or Hebrew Bible to begin Fall 2023. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent earned doctorate. The successful candidate will teach introductory and upper-level courses in early or modern Judaism and Hebrew Bible. The successful candidate will have strengths and interests in theological interpretation of the Hebrew Bible, literary and historical critical methods, early Judaism, and modern Judaism. The successful candidate will oversee HPU’s minor in Jewish Studies. Applicants should demonstrate a dedication and preparation for teaching undergraduate courses in the context of a liberal arts institution related to the United Methodist Church.
