Job Details

Nazareth College seeks candidates for a full-time, Assistant Professor in Professional Practice of Visual Communication Design, beginning fall 2023. The successful candidate will have significant experience both as a design professional and as a design educator, with technical and critical expertise, and a capacity to steer curricular and pedagogical change in the areas of design criticism and professional preparation.

The candidate will teach two or three courses per semester that may include, but not be limited to, introductory and advanced graphic design courses in design professional practices and processes, typography, semiotics, branding and identity, contemporary design criticism and design history, publication and layout design, advertising, and web design. All faculty are expected to participate in undergraduate advising, effectively collaborate with department faculty and faculty across disciplines, mentor students and supervise student-related activities, and participate in committee service within the department, and college.
