Job Summary
Assists in all responsibilities relating to the safety, health, welfare and education of children assigned to the Children’s Center.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
• Helps children remove outer garments
• Organizes and participates in games, reads to children, and teaches them simple painting, drawing, handwork, songs, and similar activities
• Directs children in eating, resting, and toileting
• Helps children develop habits of caring for own clothing and picking up and putting away toys and books
• Assists in preparing food and cleaning quarters
• Serves meals and refreshments to children and regulates rest periods
• Makes posters and visual aids materials, changes books in book center, mixes paints, sets up and operates projectors and sound equipment
• Assists in the supervision of college students
• Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
• Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College ( TCC )
• Supports the values of the College: diversity, teaching excellence, student success, innovation and creativity and service to the College
• Supports the mission, values and 3 goals and 8 principles of the College

Required Minimum Qualifications
• High School diploma or General Equivalency Diploma ( GED )
• Fifteen (15) semester hours of child growth and development courses
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Ability to work directly with children
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Experience working with computerized systems

Special Instructions Summary
This is a part-time position, with a maximum of 19.5 hrs. per week. Applicants must be available between the hours of 12:00 pm – 5:30 pm. Flexibility is required as part-time work schedules may vary based on individual campus/departmental needs including evenings and weekends.
This position requires a fingerprint background check.
