Assistant Director- Fitness Programs - (STA011108)



Develops, plans, and implements fitness programs for the Department of Campus Recreation at the University of Houston.
  1. Directs the recruitment, selection, supervision, and evaluation of staff and students; provide guidance, and is responsible for professional development and training for staff.
  2. Provides leadership and direction for fitness programs, schedule and evaluate fitness programs including group exercise, personal and group personal training, Fit4Hire, instructor training, non-academic ACE Personal training classes, special programs and events.
  3. Collaborates with marketing team to develop and execute an ongoing marketing and promotional plan for all programs.
  4. Oversees the scheduling, supervision, and management fitness programs for multiple activities within and outside of the CRWC.
  5. Ensures program compliance with university policy and procedures, and local and state regulations.
  6. Monitor expenses and revenue goals, identify opportunities for fundraising, sponsorship and grants to support programs and events.
  7. Develop, plan, and implement long range strategic plans for assessment of student development, learning outcomes, evaluations of programs, services and staff.
  8. Maintains records and creates various reports including semi-annual and annual reports.
  9. Collaborates with campus partners and academic units to develop and implement programs and events to contribute to student success.Assess, evaluate and mitigate risk for programs, implement departmental emergency action plan, inspect campus program areas and equipment.Performs other job-related duties as required.

Qualifications :

Bachelors and 3 years experience

Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of three (3) year of directly job-related experience.
