John Cabot University, an accredited American liberal arts university in Rome, Italy, invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions in Psychology (open rank), to begin August 2023. The initial appointment is for two years, with the possibility of tenure.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to excellent teaching in the context of a liberal arts education, scholarly activity that can ideally involve undergraduate students from different backgrounds, and service to the department and university.

A PhD in Psychology or a related field (i.e., Neuroscience) is required. The area of specialization is open, but preference will be given to applicants with a psychobiology or social/personality focus and with a strong quantitative background. Candidates are expected to be fluent in English, which is the language of instruction and to have permission to work in the EU.

Applicants should send 1) a cover letter expressing their interest and suitability for teaching at an American liberal arts college in Rome; 2) an updated curriculum vitae; 3) a statement of teaching philosophy and research interests; 4) evidence of teaching excellence. Materials should be sent as a single pdf file to psychologysearch2022@johncabot.edu. Applicants should arrange for three confidential letters of recommendation to be sent separately to the same email address.

The application deadline is November 30, 2022. Applications will be reviewed until the positions are filled. Only short-listed candidates will be notified.

Inquiries may be made to Prof. Paola Castelli, Psychology Search Committee Chair, at pcastelli@johncabot.edu
