Program Assistant
About the Opportunity
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Executive Director of the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, the Program Assistant provides general administrative support to the Executive Director and Vice Provost of Faculty Diversity, and assists with coordinating, implementing and monitoring of the ODEI University wide initiatives and special projects.
Essential Functions:
- Provide administrative support for the ODEI Executive Director
and Vice Provost of Faculty Diversity scheduling, meetings,
organizing logistics and coordinating activities of
projects.
- Provide general administrative and logistical support to
departmental special projects and events as requested.
- Supervise student staff; manage workflow and assist the
Executive Director in coordinating day-to-day ODEI
staff.
- Direct requests, inquiries and other communications from
diversity@northeastern.edu
to relevant ODEI staff.
- Coordinate and monitor logistics of ODEI funding
initiatives:
- DO IT Grants
- Presidential Inclusive Excellence Award
- Inclusive Impact Innovation Grant/Fund
- DO IT Grants
- Assist Executive Director with Human Resources DEI staff hire
approvals and waivers.
- Perform other related duties as required or
directed.

ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Demonstrated skill in understanding of cultural
differences.

accomplish work.

promotes diversity, equity, inclusion and anti-racism.
Qualifications:
- 2-5 year of prior experience working in an office environment
assisting with managing projects and supporting office
staff.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are
required.
- Ability to multi-task, take initiative, prioritize, and meet
deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of cultural competency, diversity, and
inclusion.
- Ability to gather and analyze data, develop reports.
- Superior organizational, time management and program management
skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, make sound
decisions, and execute.
- Ability to work on multiple projects and programs
simultaneously.
- Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to
resolve problems in a quick, efficient, creative, and culturally
competent manner.
- Computer skills should include graphics, proficiency with
Microsoft Office, and Adobe.
Experience with website development and social media, including WordPress, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
