Essential Functions
- Instructional
- Teach undergraduate financial, managerial or tax accounting courses
- Teach graduate financial, managerial, or tax accounting courses
- Create appropriate syllabi and all instructional materials for assigned courses
- Manage online course delivery systems, such as McGraw Hill Connect and Blackboard
- Service
- Perform academic service to department, college and university as assigned by department head
- Research
- Contribute to professional or academic literature to advance the practice of accounting
- Contribute to accounting professional societies via presentations or published articles
Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Accounting, Taxation or Business from an AACSB accredited institution OR have a commensurate level of professional experience and professional qualification(s) in the area of accounting or taxation
- 1 year of academic teaching or extensive professional presentation experience
- 3 years of recent professional experience in accounting or tax that can be brough to enhance student learning
- Experience designing and delivering instructional material
- Experience assessing student or course participant learning
- Experience using online classroom management systems or demonstrated ability to manage learning in an online environment
- Ability to write professional or academic articles for the accounting profession
- Ability to present accounting knowledge or research to professional and academic audiences
- Ability and willingness to integrate technology and analytics into curriculum
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA, EA)
- Ability to teach personal and corporate tax courses at the undergraduate and graduate level
