Position Summary:
The Program Manager works under the Principal Investigators. This position is responsible for implementing and managing the PCN and Potato Virus programs in coordination with the Principal Investigators (PIs). The position will have overall operational and management responsibilities, including working closely with collaborators from the University of Idaho, and other institutions to maintain and keep track of program activities, overseeing financial and administrative processes to ensure compliance with federal, state, and University of Idaho procedures and policies, managing all consultants and contractors to make sure that agreements are implemented on time, collaborating with all members of the staff to ensure that the program achieves its objectives, prepare project reports, maintain accurate and organized records of all correspondence, proposal documents, event documents, meeting documents, outreach files, development activities, meetings, workshops and trainings and provide support for outreach and project evaluation.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management, Agricultural Economics, Business Administration, Plant or Crop Science, Plant Pathology, or closely related field.
- Four years of progressively responsible experience which has included one year of supervisory experience.
- At least one year of program management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master of Science degree in a related discipline.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Experience working in higher education.
- Experience managing project budgets.
