Who We Are

The Stem Cell Research and Technology Resource Center at the University of Colorado Boulder:

The CU Boulder Stem Cell Research and Technology Resource Center is a campus-wide shared facility with the mission of promoting interdisciplinary research utilizing stem cells.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintenance of laboratory equipment and certification status.
  • Maintenance and restocking of consumables and lab supplies.
  • Maintenance of gas storage closet and backups.
  • Maintenance of Liquid Nitrogen storage unit.
  • Maintenance of the stock room.
  • Clean and maintain the laboratory space.
  • Working with external technicians to troubleshoot technical problems with lab equipment and microscopes.
  • Cell work: feeding and plating of cells.
  • Culturing human iPSCs for various purposes.
  • Support, mentoring, and monitoring of work-study students.
  • Manage internal software.
  • Manage internal spreadsheets.
  • Setting up lab space and accounts for new users.
  • Assist in advertising and represent the Center.
  • Assist in managing an established stem cell research seminar series.
  • Aliquoting media and reagents.
What You Should Know
  • This is a full-time position. Occasional weekend work will be necessary.
What We Can Offer

The salary for this full-time position is $35,000 - $42,000 annually.

What We Require

A Bachelor's Degree.

What We Would Like You to Have
  • Experience with mammalian cell cultures or stem cells and sterile techniques are desirable.
  • The ideal candidate will be asked to coordinate and undertake maintenance and cleaning schedules, maintain a close inventory of Center supplies and order new supplies as needed, apply good customer service and communication skills, prepare stem cell media and other sterile solutions, and culture stem cells for various applications.
    • This is a great opportunity to gain experience in culturing human iPSCs and related laboratory techniques.
