Job Summary
This opening is for two positions located at the UW-Milwaukee's Waukesha campus.

The incumbent inspects, maintains, and repairs basic equipment and facilities to ensure property meets established standards and to prevent further damage. Assists with construction, and operational maintenance as needed.

Finance & Administrative Affairs is required to conduct Post-Offer Pre-Employment screenings on all selected candidates for Facilities Technician II position. Employment is contingent upon successfully passing the screening.

The starting wage for this position will be between $17-21/hr depending on experience



Minimum Qualifications
Applicants for this vacancy must:

• Have a minimum of 1 year experience or related degree, applicable to performing the operation, maintenance, and repair of items such as electrical, plumbing, and HVAC mechanical systems
• Possess Windows based computer navigational skills.
• Provide demonstrated experience in making sound independent decisions
• Demonstrates a knowledge of safety practices and procedures

Preferred Qualifications
Highly qualified candidates will also have:

• Knowledge of HVAC systems and how they work.
• Basic electrical and plumbing skills with troubleshooting and repair experience
• Basic understanding of work order systems
• Basic understanding of computer-based building monitoring systems
• Basic small engine knowledge and troubleshooting experience.
• Snow removal experience.
• Evidence of effective communication skills
• Evidence of the ability to read complex electrical and control sequence diagrams.
• Possess the ability to interact in a positive and professional manner with the campus community including students, building managers, academic personnel, and craft personnel, in a diverse work environment.
