Position Description

The Executive Director of the TTUHSC Simulation Program serves as an institutional leader and oversees the successful use and integration of simulation education across the institution. This full-time, 12-month administrative position with potential for faculty rank reports directly to the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs and Integrated Learning. The Executive Director works collaboratively with stakeholders and leadership across TTUHSC (administrative units, schools, and campuses) by supporting the effective use and integration of simulation in health care education as well as fostering interprofessional training opportunities best suited for simulated environments. The Executive Director will be given the authority and responsibility to establish the strategic priorities for the multi-site simulation program in collaboration with TTUHSC leadership and will have oversight of simulation program operations, marketing and development initiatives, research and assessment efforts, and the systematic expansion and integration of simulation across the institution.

The Simulation Program at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) includes a group of interprofessional, multimodality centers and training sites with state-of-the-art learning environments, focused on evidence-based training pedagogies and debriefing processes. The simulation program provides a bridge between classroom learning and real-life clinical experience. We promote clinical excellence, patient safety, and faculty development through simulation and advanced technologies for the education, training, and assessment of TTUHSC students, residents, and faculty. There are designated centers on TTUHSC campuses in Abilene, Amarillo, Dallas, Lubbock, Midland, and Odessa with training sites in Mansfield, Austin, and San Antonio. Currently, a wide array of simulation-based activities is integrated into the curricula of many of our academic programs and implemented in a variety of campus locations. The Simulation Program is accredited in the areas of Assessment and Teaching/Education by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare.
