Job Description Summary

The Manager of Technology Training & Multimedia Development provides leadership and management oversight for the college’s technology training and multimedia development resources. These resources provide support to faculty and staff in the development of content to enhance teaching and learning and workforce productivity. The Manager provides for timely technology-related training and materials for college faculty and staff. The Manager oversees the areas of instructional design, technology training, web-based multimedia development, and graphic design.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Two years’ experience managing or coordinating projects, developing multimedia projects, developing and delivering training.
  • Minimum of two years supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of video and multimedia production process
  • Knowledge of instructional design frameworks
  • Experience and skills in multimedia development tools
  • Experience and skills in technology training process
  • Knowledge and skills in instructional and workforce productivity technologies (hardware and software)
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft (MS) office products (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote, and Forms)
  • Experience with MS collaboration applications (e.g., Outlook, Teams, OneDrive)
  • Project management skills

  • Manages technology training, multimedia development, and instructional design resources.
  • Leads the effort to design and produce video presentations, web-based products, and multimedia components to support instruction and workforce productivity.
  • Promotes effective uses of instructional technology within instructional departments and divisions.
  • Consults with faculty and staff to identify training, multimedia, and instructional design projects, requirements and costs, and evaluates the impact to the college.
  • Analyzes the technology-related training needs of faculty to optimize the learning experience of students.
  • Analyzes the technology-related training needs of staff to optimize workforce productivity.
  • Leads the development of training materials and job aids to support teaching and learning and workforce productivity.
  • Coordinates and consults with college stakeholders on technology training needs.
  • Provides support for the coordination and delivery of an on-going technology-related training program for faculty and staff.
  • Ensures production of content that adheres to applicable federal and/or state laws and regulations, including copyright law and the Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 508.
  • Analyzes, develops, and implements effective business processes associated with the design, development and delivery of multimedia products.
  • Develops quality standards for multimedia training products.
  • Provides project management guidance for multimedia projects identifying utilization of resources and project timelines.
  • Identifies and evaluates new technology products to support multimedia production and applied learning technologies.
  • Supervises and evaluates assigned employees.
  • Conducts ongoing data collection and data analysis and implements data-driven solutions and process improvements.
  • Prepares usage and service level reports to aid in improving and managing services, planning and budgeting.
  • Promotes and models a team approach in the conduct of daily operations within the Data Science Innovation and Effectiveness unit.
  • Participates with institutional committees, initiatives, projects, and work groups.
  • Recommends and implements changes in work processes to improve the quality and effectiveness of service.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements

Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle, or feel objects and controls. Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to a, personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine. No significant climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions.

  • Must be able to work Monday thru Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written standard English.
  • As required by the 1986 Immigration Act, be prepared to present acceptable documentation showing your identity and that you are a U.S. citizen or an alien who is authorized to work.
  • A background investigation will be conducted prior to the offer of employment. A signed authorization for the release of personal information will be required if selected for an interview.
