Job Summary
The Program Coordinator performs duties under the general supervision of the Director of the PRIDE Center & Gender Equity Center. This position will coordinate the programming of the center, work with the student assistants, and organize with campus and community partners to implement small and large-scale programs that encourage the campus community to participate in co-curricular activities that integrate academic experiences and intersectional social justice causes to contribute to the growth of individuals and general community awareness on issues related to gender. Additionally, this position will supervise the student assistants of the Gender Equity Center by mentoring their professional development, nurturing their understanding of gender issues, and utilizing their skills and expertise to develop programming.
Key Responsibilities
- Designs and implements programs that promote education, advocacy, advising support, professional development, and mentoring for students; specifically addressing issues regarding gender and identity development.
- Educates students on social justice issues and in particular how gender impacts individuals and society.
- Mentors and advises students on how to apply social justice practices in their creation of programs.
- Manage student assistants to work collaboratively on programs, events, and projects.
- Assess and evaluate the programming of the Gender Equity Center to ensure the center is providing programming that contributes to the individual growth, educational goals, and university retention of students who participate in Gender Equity Center programs.
- Knowledge of how issues of gender impact individuals and society.
- Ability to produce culturally appropriate educational events, programs, and projects from inception to execution.
- Knowledge of software applications: such as word processing, spreadsheet, and drawing/illustration.
- Ability to advise students individually and in groups.
- Ability to present clear and concise information orally and in written reports.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Must possess excellent customer service and public relations skills.
- Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university preferably in one of the behavioral sciences, public health, gender studies or a job-related field.
- Two years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas, public health or in a related field. A master’s degree in a job-related field may be substituted for one year of the professional experience.

- Three years of experience in student services or public health work at the entry/trainee/intern level.

Classification: Student Service Professional II
Anticipated Hiring Range: $4,476/month - $4,655/month
CSU Hiring Range: $4,476/month - $6,365/month
