This is position is a Hybrid role with the location being at our National University Pleasant Hill Campus in Pleasant Hill, CA.

Position Summary:

Under clinical program leadership within the Office of Professional Training (OPT), provide clinical supervision of MFT and PCC pre-licensed trainees and Associates who are unpaid graduate students enrolled in National University or other university practicum programs or Associate Marriage and Family Therapists (AMFT). The supervised pre-licensed clinicians provide psychotherapy services (individual, couple, child, adolescent, family and group therapy and psychoeducation) to schools and community service organizations who participate in the Community-Based Counseling Program (CBCP).

Essential Functions :
  • Provides clinical supervision of practicum students, Clinical Trainees in externship and Associate Marriage and Family Therapists in accordance with BBS, BOP, and BOP regulations and University policies.
  • Delivers weekly individual, triadic and/or group clinical supervision to assigned counselors.
  • Reviews and audits clinical records in OCT’s Electronic Health Records (EHR) system, e.g., Best Notes, including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes as well as other relevant program required information, forms and/or documentation.
  • Contributes in mandatory meetings to discuss supervisees’ progress as well as clinical issues and concerns; and any other meetings and trainings as necessary or required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Education & Experience:
  • Master’s degree in, Marriage and Family Therapy, Couple and Family Therapy, Clinical Counseling, Social Work or Clinical Psychology, required,
  • Must have and maintain active California license as LMFT, LCSW, and/or LPCC; two (2) years of licensure required, five or more (5+) years of licensure preferred; proof of licensure required.
  • Must have completed (and maintain) required training according to applicable BBS regulations to provide clinical supervision to pre-licensed MFT and PCC trainees and associates; two plus (2+) years of relevant clinical supervision experience, preferred; proof of completing training required.
  • Clinical experience (psychotherapy and/or clinical supervision) in a school-based setting, preferred.
  • Must have and maintain own malpractice insurance coverage; proof required.
  • Working knowledge of Electronic Health Records (EHR) software used for psychotherapy records, preferred.
  • Must reside and be eligible to work in the United States

  • Basic Skills in Office Suite Applications such as Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and working knowledge of software programs for mental performance record-keeping, e.g., Tevera, preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individual of constituencies in a diverse community. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Strong problem solving, critical and analytical thinking skills.
  • Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations; apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
  • Work independently and foster a cooperative spirit within a large and/or small team of diverse cultures, while working in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines and frequently changing priorities.
  • Bilingual language skills in English/Spanish, preferred.
  • Intermediate use of computers and Microsoft Office Suite Applications such as Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook.
Location: Remote

Travel: Infrequent travel to campus for on-site supervision may be required.
