The University of Kansas (KU) seeks a Full Professor/Director of Clinical Training in the Department of Psychology to begin July 17, 2023. We will consider Associate level applicants if they are willing to be evaluated for promotion to Full before accepting the appointment. We seek a candidate
The University of Kansas is located in the city of Lawrence, a thriving community 40 minutes from the Kansas City metropolitan area and 30 minutes from the state capitol, Topeka. Job Description
Director Responsibilities (50%):
- Foster excellence in student clinical scientists by building proficiency in the areas of clinical research and health service and linking students with quality faculty in research, clinical applications, and professional skills.
- Provide oversight and leadership for all program activities; review and modify the long-range planning for the program as it concerns the program's curriculum, faculty support, outreach, and funding.
- Administer the graduate academic program in the Clinical Psychological Science Program.
- Facilitate and provide support for students applying for internships, including writing letters of support for internship applications.
- Maintain program's accreditation through annual reports to APA, surveys of current students and graduates, self-study reviews, and accreditation reports.
Teaching (20%)
- Teach 2 courses per academic year in the department.
- Mentor graduate and/or undergraduate students in research.
- Serve on graduate student committees that supervise and evaluate progress toward degree completion.
- Conduct research in an area of expertise that complements current strengths in the department.
- Maintain an active research program that continues to grow in depth, breadth, and importance.
- Publish in peer-reviewed journals, present findings at professional conferences, and maintain and pursue external funding.
- Provide general service to the department, the College, the University, and to the academic profession.

- A Ph.D. in Psychology from an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited clinical program, Psychological Clinical Science Accreditation System (PCSAS) accredited clinical program, or a similar developed practice area
- Experience with leadership roles in a clinical psychology doctoral training program accredited by APA or PCSAS
- Demonstrated ability to work in collaborative environments.
- Strong record of scholarly achievement with clear evidence of an ongoing research program
- Demonstrated ability to teach effectively at undergraduate and graduate levels and to mentor students
