Position Summary:

Are you interested in developing compelling, innovative faith-based educational video productions and assesses emerging technologies for innovative new directions with online learning and connecting with national and international Catholic educators? The Videographer and Digital Media Specialist works within the Institute for Pastoral Initiatives (IPI) and is responsible for creating professional media productions, primarily in support of our Catholic faith-based e-learning platform, the Virtual Learning Community for Faith Formation ( https://vlcff.udayton.edu ). This is a full time benefit eligible position that offers health, dental and vision insurance, retirement, disability, tuition assistance, vacation/sick accrual and holiday pay.

This position will collaborate with the IPI team and national / international Catholic educators to produce innovative media content for e-courses, as well as compelling content to promote our program globally through various channels (website, blog, social media).

Applicants must have significant hands-on experience working in audio/video capture, editing, graphic & motion design, and streaming media technologies. The successful candidate will demonstrate, through their portfolio and references, the ability to create polished video productions that are their solo or near-solo creations. A proven ability to write copy for video and blogs is also required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in media production OR 4 years equivalent related work experience as shown in your portfolio
Ability to independently create professional video productions, based on input from the IPI team, our clientele, and your own creativity
Highly skilled with digital capture hardware (cameras, mics, and lighting)
Highly skilled with digital creation and editing software (Adobe or similar suites)
Ability to compose quality scripts for video productions, website, and blogs
Experienced in graphics design
Experience with social media applications
Experience with digital broadcast systems; web and video conferencing
Experience with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workplace
Results-oriented, self-motivated, team player who can work independently to complete assignments on time
Effective written and verbal communication skills

Five plus years work as a professional videographer
Knowledgeable about the mission of the Catholic Church regarding faith and lay leadership formation
Experienced in the development of online learning resources
Experience working with socially and culturally diverse communities
Basic communication skills in Spanish and/or Arabic
A quality digital portfolio that includes video and social media productions

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide. With this development, the University will pause any enforcement action against employees who have not complied with the requirement to be fully vaccinated by Dec. 8, 2021 or to have requested an exemption to maintain their employment status.
