Job Description:

The Department of Mathematics, Computer Science, and Statistics at the State University of New York College at Oneonta invites applications for a full-time Lecturer of Mathematics beginning Fall 2023. This is a non-tenure track position with an appointment of one year. Expectations include, but are not limited to, teaching, college service, and continuing professional development.

The Department offers major and minor programs in Mathematics, Computer Science, and Statistics. There are 21 full-time and 10 part-time faculty serving around 275 students majoring in Mathematics, Computer Science, and Statistics. The Department is part of the School of Sciences which consists of 10 academic departments and 2,250 students majoring in 24 programs. Duties include but not limited to: teaching 21 semester hours per academic year at the undergraduate level; working collegially with other members of the Department and School; participation in program and course assessment.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of master's degree in Mathematics or a related area
  • Ability to teach introductory mathematics courses.
Preferred:
  • Doctoral degree
  • Collegiate teaching experience
  • Ability to teach mathematics for elementary school teachers or statistics
  • Experience working with diverse populations and/or teaching pedagogies and/or multicultural teaching experience
