Position Details
The Department of Chemistry at Wesleyan University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate. The postdoc will work with Prof. Michelle Personick on a DOE -funded study involving the use of electrochemistry to both synthesize metal nanoparticles and probe nanoparticle growth mechanisms.

The Personick Lab has developed an integrated electrochemical approach to nanomaterials synthesis that combines real-time electrochemical measurements with electrochemically-driven nanoparticle growth. The funded project applies this approach to the design of syntheses for shaped nanoparticles from non-platinum-group elements to enable the replacement of platinum group elements in energy-relevant catalytic processes.

The lab is highly collaborative and supports colleagues with diverse backgrounds and experiences. We are part of a dynamic chemistry community with outstanding resources, facilities, and training.

Responsibilities include: · Research project data collection and analysis of results · Preparation of results for manuscripts and publication · Assisting the PI in the design of related projects · Mentoring and training of graduate and undergraduate research students · Other duties as assigned

The postdoc will have the opportunity to present research at national conferences, as well as to participate in departmental and divisional seminars.

This is a grant funded position. Funding has been approved for 1 year with the potential to extend for up to 2 additional years. The start date of this position is flexible and can be as early as December 2022.
