Job Description

Applications are being accepted for anAdministrative Assistant(UM Job Title: Office Support Assistant IV) in the UMKC School of Pharmacy (SOP), Division of Pharmacy Practice and Administration, Office of Experiential Learning in Kansas City. This position can be located in Kansas City, Columbia, or Springfield Missouri and provides responsible and varied staff assistance at a paraprofessional level for the Office. The position reports to the Director of Experiential Learning who is located at the MU site as well as works collaboratively with and takes direction from other members of the experiential team.

The applicant should be an individual who:
  • Possesses independent problem-solving skills necessary for autonomous project completion
  • Collaborates easily with others to analyze problems and formulate creative, timely, and effective solutions
  • Exhibits strong communication skills with faculty, staff, and students located at three different sites as well as outside constituents
  • Takes direction and accepts feedback within a team setting to serve common goals
  • Demonstrates the ability to proactively work on completion of tasks three to four months in advance to meet deadlines
General dutiesof the position include but are not limited to:
  • Provide administrative support to experiential faculty at all locations and the Academic Advisor for the Office of Experiential Learning
  • Gather, organize, and summarize program information/data as requested for assessment and accreditation purposes
  • Proactively communicate with faculty, staff, and students regarding upcoming deadlines, programs, training, and events of the experiential program
  • Oversee and manage preceptor/site information, payments, and affiliation agreements
  • Verify experiential course enrollment and report rotation grades
  • Order supplies/equipment and process expense reports
  • Participate on School committees, engage in student learning events, and provide course support as assigned/requested
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.) is preferred
  • Previous experience with rotation management software system (i.e., CORE ELMS) is preferred
Full Time/Part Time

40 hours per week (1.0 FTE), fully benefit-eligible, staff position.

This position is 100% on site, either at UMKC School of Pharmacy @ Kansas City, Missouri, or UMKC School of Pharmacy @ Columbia, Missouri.

Salary

Up to $17.00 per hour, commensurate with education, experience, and internal equity.
