Compensation and Benefits

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $4,693 - $5,083 per month

Full Classification Salary Range: $4,693 - $8,649 per month

  • This is a full-time, probationary, exempt position.


The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 14 paid holidays a year. Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Executive Director of Advancement Services, the Senior Prospect Management Analyst leads and manages all aspects of the Prospect Management Office, including proactive and reactive research. The position builds, evaluates, maintains and rates a qualified pool of prospects using wealth screening data and other available tools. The Senior Prospect Management Analyst will provide analysis of the comprehensive research program, including identification and/or strategic research and analysis of top-tier donor prospects, corporations, foundation and key volunteers in support of the University. The position serves as a campus contact and resource for information regarding major donors and prospects and applies independent judgment to make decisions and interpret policies and procedures necessary for the identification, evaluation and tracking of major gift prospects and donors. The incumbent will also provide recommendations, and commitments in completing assigned duties and to handle administrative tasks in support of the day-to-day program efforts of the department.

Key Qualifications

  • High level of proficiency in standard computer applications as well as complex relational databases, including extraction of data, information review, and storage.
  • Keen understanding of philanthropy (mission, practice, trends) and fundraising practices (the development cycle, prospect management policies and practices, database management).
  • Excellent communication skills: interpersonal, oral and written.
  • Skill in analyzing financial and statistical information and the ability to interpret and evaluate results to develop sound conclusions and recommend new or revised policies.
  • Strong ethics and ability to handle confidential materials and situations with sensitivity and good judgment.
  • Ability to oversee day-to-day program operations and provide lead work direction to staff, with accountability for results.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent training and administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and evaluation of data.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience and proven record of achievement in development or similar research.
