Position Summary:
Job SummaryThe Head Softball Coach reports to the Director of Athletics. The primary tasks are to provide oversight of the softball program and facilitate student-athlete development and strategic recruiting of softball student-athletes. In addition, Secondary responsibilities include department game management support.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Evidence of a positive attitude and the ability to get along well with others is required. Excellent speaking and writing skills are necessary, as well as the ability to be a well-organized self-starter that can communicate team concepts and support student-athletes. A valid driver's license is required.
Specific Responsibilities

• Serve as the Head Coach of the Softball Team.
• Supervise and develop assistant coaches
• Identify, evaluate, and recruit quality student-athletes.
• Organize, plan, and conduct safe team training and practice.
• Facilitate all Softball operations including, but not limited to; NCAA paperwork, scheduling, travel plans, equipment, marketing, and budget management.
• Counsel Student Athletes in a positive manner
• Adhere to all NCAA and conference bylaws
• Promote Alumni involvement
• Develop positive rapport with athletics staff, as well as SU community
• Represent the university to various constituents in a professional manner
• Perform other duties as assigned.
  Education Bachelor's Degree required. Master's Degree preferred.ExperienceA minimum of 2 years of Softball coaching experience at the college level is preferred.Physical DemandMust have the energy, enthusiasm, and mobility to actively coach the sport. Position requires the ability to stand or sit for extended period of times. Position requires ability to move about campus. Position requires lifting, stooping, crouching, and bending.
