Andrew College invites nominations and applications for its 30th president following the retirement of President Linda Buchanan in June 2023. Andrew seeks a servant leader with experience as an executive-level administrator. The successful candidate will be positive, visionary, and have a heart for students and rural communities with a passion to fulfill Andrew’s mission as the “United Methodist beacon of educational, spiritual, and cultural uplift to Southwest Georgia.”

The next president has a unique opportunity to build on a strong foundation of innovation and program development. The 2016 strategic plan launched the College into an aggressive effort to expand and diversify academic programs. Within five years, the College launched five associate degree programs including nursing and respiratory therapy and added the first baccalaureate programs in a century, business administration and elementary education. The College also began its first online certificate program in Cancer Registry Management. Andrew faculty have proven they will work collaboratively to develop programs that promote both the liberal arts and workforce development needs.

The Andrew student body is an enviably diverse and balanced community. The small, private college serves approximately 300 students with a 14:1 student-faculty ratio. This close-knit community of learners is involved in student clubs, intercollegiate athletics within the NJCAA, and participates in a robust fine arts program that enjoys a close partnership with the city of Cuthbert.

Andrew College is located on a beautiful campus featuring iconic buildings and state-of-the-art classrooms and instructional technology. The 40-acre campus is only a few blocks from the town square of Cuthbert, the county seat of Randolph County in Southwest Georgia. The Atlanta airport is 2.5 hours away and Columbus, GA, a hub for shopping and dining, is one hour north. Panama City, Florida, with its beautiful beaches is only two hours south.

Leading Higher Ed is assisting in this national search. Nominations and inquiries can be sent to Dr. Kina Mallard, Leading Higher Ed, at mallard@leadinghighered.com.

Application materials should include a letter of interest responding to the Leadership Opportunities for the Next President and Qualities and Qualifications sections of this profile http://www.andrewcollege.edu/presidential-search-2022, a current Curriculum Vitae, and the names and contact information for three references, none of whom will be contacted without formal permission of the candidate. Materials should be submitted electronically to PresidentialSearch@andrewcollege.edu.
