Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry
Kennesaw State University is accepting applications for multiple nine-month, tenure track Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor faculty positions in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry beginning August 2023
Preference will be given to candidates with research programs that align with one or both of the following themes:
- Molecular and/or chemical basis of human disease
- Chemical biology of microorganisms; antimicrobial drug discovery
Faculty will have access to state-of-the-art research space and core facilities, including mass spectrometry, microscale thermophoresis, NMR, confocal and super-resolution microscopy, bioreactor, and a vivarium (see https://csm.kennesaw.edu/research/core-facilities/index.php for details).

Successful candidates will be expected to establish an extramurally funded research program in one of the fields aligned with the College of Science and Mathematics Research Interest Groups (https://csm.kennesaw.edu/research/research-interest-groups/index.php) and focused on one of the themes listed below.
- Molecular or chemical basis of human disease
- Chemical biology of microorganisms; antimicrobial drug discovery
Candidates who can develop a collaborative research program that complements the college’s research portfolio are particularly encouraged to apply.
Expectations include:
- Teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Mentoring of students.
- Participation in professional service.
- Adherence to the principles of inclusive excellence in research and education.
Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
Required Qualifications Include
- An earned doctorate, or its foreign equivalent in chemistry, biochemistry, or a closely related field such as chemical engineering, with at least 18 graduate hours in chemistry or biochemistry.
- A record of peer-reviewed publications (or accepted manuscripts);
- For applicants requesting associate or full professor positions, prior or current federal funding is required.
