Position Description
Rider University invites applications for a Director of Recreation Programs. Reporting to the Associate Dean of Campus Life, this individual will provide vision, leadership and management for campus wide student recreational and wellness programs. The Director will: provide primary oversight and responsibility for recognized Club Sports and intramural sports, including careful organizational, fiscal and risk management oversight; implement and oversee Engaged Learning opportunities for students providing leadership in recreation programs; provide leadership for collaborative efforts which expand wellness education and programming for the campus community; and contribute collaboratively to Rider’s vibrant living and learning community through Recreation Programs engagement in co-curricular campus activities.

Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in student personnel or related field
- 1-3 years’ experience in a related position
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, budgeting and management skills
- Multicultural competency, desire and ability to work with diverse student populations
- Knowledge in holistic wellness and/or recreational sports programs and trends in higher education
- Experience and knowledge working with negotiating and implementing contracts
- Flexibility with work schedule is necessary, as weekends and evenings are required
- Knowledge in working with Netscape, Word, Excel and HTML authoring tools.
- Master’s degree
