The Department of Agricultural, Environmental, and Development Economics in the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences at The Ohio State University is currently seeking a tenure-track assistant or associate professor with teaching and research responsibilities in development economics. Applicants with interests in agricultural productivity, food security, international trade in staple food crops, value chains, trade and food policy, and adaptation to climate change are particularly encouraged to apply.

The appointee will have an academic year (9 month) appointment in the Department of Agricultural, Environmental, and Development Economics with competitive salary and benefits package and is expected to develop and maintain a world-class research program in their field of inquiry and teach the equivalent of three classes in our undergraduate, masters, and/or PhD programs.

The Department of Agricultural, Environmental, and Development Economics (https://aede.osu.edu/) is a premier department of applied economics that values excellence in research, teaching, and outreach to fulfill our departmental commitment to the land-grant mission of The Ohio State University. The Department of Agricultural,  Environmental, and Development Economics’ world-class faculty currently serves: 60 PhD students (with fields in environmental, development, regional, and agricultural economics); 15 Masters of Applied Economics students; and 400 undergraduate majors (who obtain a BSc in Agribusiness and Applied Economics or a BSc in Environment, Economy, Development, and Sustainability, the latter program run in partnership with the School of Environment and Natural Resources).

Qualifications (required & desired):

Applicants must possess a PhD in either agricultural economics, economics, or a related field; or expect to complete PhD degree requirements before August 1, 2023.
