Job Description

Lead PKI project initiatives that evaluate new technologies and assist with the planning and integration of these security technologies into university business processes. Provide analysis, design, and deployment of computer security technologies that will help ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and authenticity of access to university enterprise services. Provide technical assistance as needed to ensure the successful implementation of these technologies in a non-homogeneous computing environment which includes Mac OS, MS Windows, Linux, and web-based applications. Provide technical and administrative support for cloud and on-premises CA infrastructure used by the university. Develop and maintain programs to support the customization, security, stability, and scalability of these systems.

Required qualifications:

- In-depth knowledge of asymmetric and symmetric encryption key technologies and their application to support a public key infrastructure (PKI)
- Experience administering a Cloud Private Certificate Authority (CA) such as AWS Private Certificate Authority, Google Certificate Authority, or other equivalent offerings.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent training and work experience
- Experience developing, maintaining, and implementing web-based applications and delivering dynamic content using relational database technologies such as PostgreSQL
- Experience with Directories, LDAP, XML, JSON, and RESTful Web Services
- Experience working in the Identity and Access Management domain, including familiarity with modern authentication and authorization protocols such as CAS, SAML, OAuth2.0, OIDC, FIDO2.0, and/or WebAuthn
- Ability to work on multiple, complex projects both independently as well as in a strong agile team setting
- Excellent communication skills for communicating technical subject matter to a variety of audiences with varying technical backgrounds

Preferred qualifications:

- Experience with Enterprise Java frameworks.
- Significant experience with object-oriented programming principles, testing patterns, and methodologies.
- Experience designing or supporting PKI/Certificate issuing services
- Knowledge of public key cryptography standards including PKCS#10, PKCS#11, and PKCS#12
- Experience supporting and/or contributing to Open Source Software
- Experience building and deploying container-based applications
