Position Summary:

Washburn University’s Department of Allied Health in Topeka, KS, invites applications for the Technology Administration Program Coordinator position with an anticipated start date of August 2023. This is a nine-month, non-tenure track appointment as Lecturer with possible conversion to tenure track after three years. A completed doctorate is necessary for tenure-track appointments.

The technology administration program is currently all online, and the selected candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to pursuing teaching excellence at Washburn University, including a dedication to developing inclusive teaching practices that engage students from diverse backgrounds. Class sizes are small, and students and faculty have the opportunity to participate in community-engaged learning. Essential Functions

• Administration of the Technology Administration program. The major is designed for upper-division level students with an applied associate degree background.

• Teach 12 credit hours and develop undergraduate classes and seminars as assigned, depending on department needs per semester. The assigned curriculum is typically related to social and environmental impact, corporate policy development, administration, emerging technologies and quality assurance or some combination of classes consistent with the candidate’s training and interests. If the position is converted to a tenure-track appointment, the incumbent is responsible for fulfilling teaching expectations associated with a tenure-track appointment. (Teach 12-hours per semester or a full workload as outlined in the faculty handbook.)

• The Technology Administration Program Coordinator reports to the Department Chair of Allied Health, provides academic advising to students and holds on-campus office hours at least three days per week.

• Fulfill service expectations by engaging in service activities in the department, university, and profession. If the position is converted to a tenure-track appointment, the incumbent is responsible for fulfilling service expectations associated with a tenure-track appointment.

• If the position is converted to a tenure-track appointment, the incumbent is responsible for fulfilling scholarship expectations associated with a tenure-track appointment.

Required Qualifications:
• Master's degree in a related field
• Experience as an administrator or manager
• University or professional teaching experience
• Demonstrated commitment to developing inclusive teaching practices that engage students from diverse backgrounds

Preferred Qualifications
• Doctorate degree in a related field
• Curriculum development experience
• Online teaching experience
• Experience with career and technical education
• Experience or knowledge of multiple facets of technology management
