Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM; this is a temporary position to end on or before June 30, 2023 with a possibility of renewal on an annual basis if funds and/or program needs exist. Occasional early morning, evening and/or weekend hours.

About the Position:
The Division of Information Technology strives to be a strategic, innovative and best‐in‐class IT organization that provides a leading‐edge technology environment for students, faculty and staff to advance the University's mission, vision and goals. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our Information and Learning Commons team as the Information Technology Consultant - Foundation. The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.

The Information Technology Consultant-Foundation works directly with and under the supervision of the Director of User/Classroom Support Services to provide instructional and technical support and services to the computer labs. Makes and deploys images for both Mac and PC and provides direct consultative support. Provides technical computing support and resolution to faculty, staff, and students over the phone, chat, text, email and in person. Enforces lab policies and guidelines. Provides assistance on the use of laser printing and wireless printing for laptop users and services at the Student Genius Center. Monitors lab activities and student assistant daily activities. Creates reports, enforces lab policies, and updates website. Other duties as assigned.


Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Telecommunications, Engineering, Engineering Technology or a related field or four years relevant full-time experience or an associate’s degree in a related field with two years of relevant full-time experience.

Basic knowledge of the specialty work area demonstrated by an understanding and use of general principals and terminology. Demonstrated understanding of the standard technology and systems in place with the capability of supporting and operating the technology. Ability to recognize problems, identify possible causes, and refer to appropriate party for resolution. Ability to solve problems where precedents exist, and acquire knowledge in related specialties. Demonstrated ability to work as a team member. Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.
