The College of Arts & Sciences at Dakota State University invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Biology.

The start date of this position is Fall 2023.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Ph.D. in biology or a closely related field is required by August 2023. ABD candidates may be considered but terminal degree must be completed by August 2025.
  • Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Ability to develop a strong and active research agenda.
  • Effective written, oral, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States. Sponsorship is not available for this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses (lectures and laboratories) in anatomy, physiology, neuroscience and/or area of expertise, and introductory biology courses.
  • Ability to teach both introductory courses as well as upper-division courses for students interested in pursuing post-graduate careers in health care.
  • Researching and publishing relevant scholarship.
  • Active pursuit of grant and funding opportunities.
  • Additional duties may include advising students, serving on university committees, assisting with recruitment activities and/or engaging in ongoing assessment.
