This position is responsible for the on-going management for
various Trades Departments in Campus Operations. Shops includes
Heating, Air-Conditioning, and Ventilation (HVAC), Electrical,
Plumbing, Carpentry/Roofing, Painting, Evening Shift operations,
and Locksmithing. The Building Automated Systems (BAS) Technician
and Fire Safety & Alarming Systems Technician also report
directly to this position. Responsibilities include small to medium
size projects planning & execution while administering State
service contracts. This manager organizes, provides direction,
coordinates, modifies and directs the work-flow of these various
shops. This position sets short-term and long-term goals, develops
and implements in-house standards, policies and practices. Works
closely with three shop Team Leaders and the Customer Service
Coordinator managing the Trades departments work orders and their
associated planned maintenance programs using the Computerized
Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software (TMA).
This position also sets strategic work priorities, manages the overall Trades financial budget, insures safety procedures & training occur, inspects work performed, and balances workloads for these departments on a perpetual basis. This position also reviews in-house renovations and major capitol designs for technical efficiency, clearances, and ease of maintenance.
This manager has total responsibility for the effective and efficient direction, development, administration, and evaluation of the Trades shops & their associated processes.
This position also sets strategic work priorities, manages the overall Trades financial budget, insures safety procedures & training occur, inspects work performed, and balances workloads for these departments on a perpetual basis. This position also reviews in-house renovations and major capitol designs for technical efficiency, clearances, and ease of maintenance.
