The Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, at The University of Maryland School of Public Health, College Park invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in biostatistics.
Assistant Professor for Biostatistics is a 1.0 FTE on a 9-month tenure-track with benefits. The position entails developing a nationally recognized research program, engaging in extramurally-funded multidisciplinary research, teaching biostatistics courses to a diverse body of undergraduate and graduate students at both fundamental and advanced levels, mentoring graduate students, and engaging in university and professional service. Effective interpersonal, communication, and collaborative skills are essential. This position reports to the department chair and coordinates/supports teaching along with other departmental duties and services.

Requirements
- Doctoral degree in biostatistics or statistics and have a track record of scholarly achievement in the stated field that supports a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor rank.
- Candidates who will complete their doctoral degree by July 2023 are also eligible to apply.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate level biostatistics courses, mentor graduate students, and collaborate on research projects.
- Develop an independent research program that complements ongoing research activities within the department by utilizing state-of-the-art biostatistical methodologies.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in the department, the school, and the University is highly desirable.
Preferred Experience:
- Individuals with expertise in machine learning and health data analytics are particularly encouraged to apply.
