OSITION: ASSISTANT WOMEN’S BASKETBALL COACH & ASSISTANT ATHLETIC DIRECTOR FOR STUDENT AFFAIRS
DEPARTMENT: ATHLETICS
DIVISION: OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT

Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Head Women’s Basketball Coach, the Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach/Assistant Athletic Director for Student Affairs will assist in the administration and leadership of the Johnson C. Smith University’s DII Women’s Basketball program and Athletics Administration. Responsibilities include but are not limited to providing coaching and instruction recruiting facilitation of player development, scouting, preparation of practice activities and other duties as assigned by the Head Women’s Basketball Coach and Athletic Director. The Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach will be responsible for cultivating highly competitive programs within the CIAA, NCAA and Johnson C. Smith University’s policies, procedures and expectations.
Qualifications: Requires a Bachelor’s degree in sports, or a related field. Must demonstrate, intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office, Teams, Excel, and Word. Excellent oral and written communication skills are also required. The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff and students from diverse backgrounds is an essential skill. Must be able to prioritize work to meet multiple deadlines with minimal supervision. Familiarity with NCAA Compliance Assistant, Front Rush or related systems is preferred.
Additional Desirable Qualifications
- Master’s Degree
- Three years’ experience working with college age students
- Three years’ experience with the NCAA and CIAA policies
- Three years’ experience in recruiting collegiate athletics at the NCAA level.
- Demonstrated ability to recruit student-athletics with potential for academic and athletic success
