Lead diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives at the School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology

Develop and implement strategies to cultivate a respectful and collaborative learning and working environment and to recruit and retain Native Hawaiian and other historically underserved populations

Establish equity, inclusion, and a Native Hawaiian place of learning as core values in all activities to promote and celebrate diversity

Inform and advise SOEST on trends, challenges, and successes regarding diversity, civility, and equal opportunity within the school to build a community that openly embraces and celebrates all forms of diversity, culture, and accessibility.

A competitive candidate should have at least 5 years of professional experience with responsibilities for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI); a bachelor’s degree; and knowledge of DEI best practices. Competitive candidates will also have demonstrated: success in developing, implementing and managing strategic DEI activities; knowledge of the history and societal impacts of social discrimination and unequal opportunity in Hawai‘i and the continental U.S.; and recognition of how this inequality influences demographic patterns and opportunity in higher education.
