Primary Responsibilities
- Teach the equivalent of 12 hours per semester in undergraduate English courses that may include Children's Literature, First-Year Composition, English Grammar, Composition in the Secondary Schools and Methods of Teaching English
- Advise students and mentor and observe teacher candidates
- Serve on university, college, and department level committees
Required Qualifications
- MA in English Education or closely related field (Degree must be from a regionally accredited or internationally accredited/government certified university.)
- Experience teaching at the middle school/secondary level and/or at the college/university level as a graduate assistant, instructor or above
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn national teacher preparation and accreditation standards
- Demonstrated strong communication skills in speaking, writing, and electronic communication
- Demonstrated ability or willingness to incorporate technology into the face-to-face classroom and to teach blended, HyFlex, ITV and online courses
- Demonstrated commitment to collegiality when interacting with others within the University community
- Demonstrated commitment to a diverse work environment, including working with multi-cultural populations and an understanding of, and sensitivity to, issues affecting women and minorities
