The Division of Corporate Communication and Public Affairs (CCPA) seeks candidates for a professor of practice to teach in the Division’s undergraduate Public Relations and Strategic Communication degree program beginning January 3, 2023.

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in communication, business, or related field with at least 15 years of combined professional experience in public relations and journalism; expertise to teach courses in media writing, content creation (podcasting, video, photography), digital and social media, building digital audiences, and internship; demonstrated effectiveness as a teacher of undergraduate students; and a desire to contribute to the program’s national reputation. The program’s applied focus and level of executive/practitioner interaction requires applicants with significant field experience and a network of professional contacts to enhance classroom learning. Candidates with a graduate or terminal degree are encouraged to apply.

Additional expertise desirable in: Desktop publishing, Microsoft certifications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), digital certifications, and communication consulting.

Workload: The selected candidate will teach four courses each fall and spring semester including Survey of CCPA, Media Writing, Creative Production for Communicators, and Internship.

The Division of Corporate Communication and Public Affairs: The Division houses two rigorous, selective undergraduate programs serving 120+ majors in the Meadows School of the Arts, two minors, and two graduate programs focusing on arts and nonprofit leadership. In addition to the B.A. in Public Relations and Strategic Communication that focuses on external corporate affairs, the Division’s B.A. in Corporate Communication and Public Affairs offers focus areas in organizational communication; political communication; nonprofit and arts leadership; and social innovation, creative, and arts entrepreneurship as part of CCPA’s mission to prepare students to take leadership roles in corporate, nonprofit, and governmental sectors. CCPA offers programs of study in London, Washington D.C., and Taos, NM; access to a 29-member Advisory Board of communication executives; and additional, compensated teaching opportunities in January, May, and summer terms. As CCPA expands its offerings, new graduate, professional, and executive education teaching opportunities will become available.
