Samford University invites individuals interested in serving in a Christian university environment to apply for the position of Faculty Director of the Frances Marlin Mann Center for Ethics and Leadership, beginning August 2023. This tenure-track, full­ time faculty position is a 12-month appointment.

Qualified candidates will hold a terminal degree in philosophy, education, religion, psychology, or related discipline with coursework or specialization in virtue ethics, moral philosophy, moral development, developmental or educational psychology, or character/virtues education from an institutionally accredited university (or equivalent). Compelling applicants will be eligible for the rank of full professor in the represented discipline/department and provide evidence of producing and facilitating leading edge research, including collaborative and interdisciplinary research, in areas related to virtue ethics, moral philosophy, moral development, developmental or educational psychology, or character education. Consideration will be given to applicants who are devoted followers of Jesus Christ and support Samford’s distinctly Christian mission, vision, and core values. Samford.edu/about/mission
