Assistant Professor of History

 

Medaille University invites applicants for an Assistant Professor of History with an emphasis in American ethnic history. Courses this position will be responsible for include American Ethnic History, African American History, and early American History. There will also be opportunities to teach a course on the history of the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict, as well as courses in the Honors program. This is a 10-month position with teaching responsibilities beginning annually August 15 and ending June 15. The successful candidate will serve as the Program Director for the International Studies major and become part of the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies Faculty. Candidates should have experience and passion for working with first-generation and students of color; we need educators dedicated to closing equity gaps and employing culturally relevant pedagogies in the classroom. Candidates from underrepresented backgrounds are especially encouraged to apply.  To be considered you must have a PhD in hand by August 15, 2023. This is a one year position with the possibility for tenure-track the following year.
