The Student Teaching Coordinator in the College of Education and Human Services at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh is responsible for managing all aspects of placements for student teaching, clinical, and practicum experiences. The coordinator also manages the student teaching admissions process. The Student Teaching Coordinator is a critical member of the undergraduate teacher education team and reports to the associate dean.

Standard working hours are 7:45 to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday. Some evening hours are required for student events.

This is a 100% position with the option to decrease FTE to accommodate reduced summer hours. Reduction of FTE could have potential benefits impacts.

45%- Coordinates and manages all functions related to identifying and securing student teaching placements, teaching internships, and other student teaching options programs. Collaborate with the Certifying Officer to plan student teaching application and orientation meetings. Collaborate with department chairs to plan student teaching supervisor training.

25%- Manage the undergraduate student teaching admissions process in collaboration with the associate dean.

20%- Coordinate and manage clinical and practicum field experiences for undergraduate teacher education programs. Provide oversight for other field experiences in undergraduate teacher education programs. Visit course sections to describe clinical and practicum experiences with students.

5%- Manage the affiliation agreement process between field experience sites and the university in collaboration with the associate dean.

5%- Other Duties as assigned

Qualifications Required:

Bachelor’s Degree

Advanced Microsoft Office Skills

Effective interpersonal and written communication skills

Highly organized

Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion

Preferred:

Master’s Degree

Experience in higher education or K-12 schools

Experience advising undergraduate students

Familiarity with teacher licensing

Strong problem-solving skills

Self-directed with the ability to work independently
