Job Description

Office Support Assistants provide all client services for the University of Missouri’s Veterinary Health Center in Kansas City, a small animal emergency hospital. The hospital is open nights, weekends, and holidays. Ability to work these hours is required

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Answering all incoming phone calls. Greeting clients who have brought their pet for emergency care and collecting client and patient information. Entering patient information into electronic medical records system and checking patients into the hospital. Assisting with financing needs. Facilitating communication between clients and medical personnel. Discharging patients and collecting payments. Effectively and compassionately managing dynamic, potentially stressful client encounters. Working closely with veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and veterinary assistants to ensure compliance with veterinary business rules. Maintaining the general appearance of the waiting room and reception area as well as the cleanliness of the clinical treatment areas.

Although the front desk functions are a priority of the position, the Office Support Assistants will also be expected to assist the doctors and veterinary technicians as needed with patient evaluation and care.

Salary

Salary Range: $15.00/hour

Grade: GGS 004

Shift

Monday - Friday 6pm - 8am and Saturday 12pm - Monday 8am.

Please note that shifts include Nights, Weekends and Holidays.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
