Department of Nursing

Assistant Professor or Associate Professor

The Department of Nursing invites established nurse scholars and clinicians, and promising faculty applicants for a Tenure-Track appointment beginning August 2023. The Department seeks to fill two faculty positions at either the Assistant or Associate Professor rank. A research Doctorate with expertise in a respective specialty area is required. Evidence of an active research agenda is also required. Candidates should have experience working with a diverse population ABD applicants considered, with appointment at the Instructor rank; all degree requirements must be completed by February 1, 2024. All candidates are expected to possess a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and advising. Licensure or eligibility for licensure in Maryland is required. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. Candidates wishing to be considered for the rank of Associate Professor should have 6 years of experience teaching in higher education or comparable qualifications, and demonstrate a clear line of research with outcomes. 1) Teaching - provide high quality instruction in a variety of undergraduate and/or graduate nursing courses, advise and mentor a diverse population of students as they matriculate through the program and prepare to enter the profession; 2) Scholarship - development/continuation of a focused area of research that includes refereed publications, professional presentations, external funding, and involvement in scholarly projects with faculty and students; 3) Service – active service participation at the Department, College, University, profession and community levels. Department of Family Studies and Community Development

Assistant Professor

Full-time, 9-month tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Studies and Community Development beginning August 2023. This position is intended to address Towson University moving toward an R2 status that emphasizes increased scholarship and grant activity. Doctoral degree in Family Science or related field. Individuals with MFT/CFT licensure or working toward MFT/CFT licensure are especially encouraged to apply. [ABD applicants with on-going progress will be considered, if all degree requirements are complete by February 1, 2024.] Strong commitment to excellence in teaching. Demonstrated success or potential to teach Family Science courses at the undergraduate and graduate level. Demonstrated potential to develop a research agenda, including the potential to secure external funding. Demonstrated service to community, university, and/or field. Towson University places a high priority on the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Department of Psychology

Assistant Professor, School Psychology

Tenure-track, 9-month Assistant Professor position in our NASP-approved Certificate of Advanced Study (CAS) Program in School Psychology beginning August 2023. Candidates must hold a Doctorate in School Psychology from a NASP-approved or APA-accredited program. ABD candidates must complete all degree requirements prior to completion of the first academic year. Applicants must possess and demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching, research, and service primarily at the graduate level. The successful applicant will teach foundational and advanced courses for the school psychology program. Most graduate courses are taught late afternoon and evenings. The successful applicant is expected to demonstrate research competency as well as evidence that they will continue to grow their research agenda, leading to publication in peer-reviewed journals. Areas of research interest are open. Applicants must possess and demonstrate a strong commitment to inclusive teaching, research and service. The successful candidate must have the ability to work with a diverse population and be sensitive to the educational needs of these students. The successful applicant will contribute to on-going development and evaluation of the Program. Student advising and participation on Department or University committees are also expected. Evidence of effective teaching experience in a college or university setting as well as applied experience in the field is highly desirable. Interest in leadership opportunities within the program encouraged. Successful candidates should exhibit potential to secure external funding.
