Clinical Director of Health Services and Nurse Practitioner

Under the direction of the Executive Director of the Kean Wellness Center at Kean University, the Clinical Director of Health Services (Director 3) provides leadership, vision and oversight of all clinical operations of Student Health Services. The Clinical Director ensures high-quality, cost-effective, student-oriented health care for a diverse student body, to promote a healthy campus and student retention. The Clinical Director will oversee policies and procedures; act with authority supervising the clinical staff; and do related work as required.

The Clinical Director is part of an integrated health care team and works as part of the administrative and clinical staff that oversees the daily operations of the Kean Wellness Center. As a Nurse Practitioner, they will deliver health care both in prevention and episodic care to the student body with a high degree of expertise within the specialties of college health and consistent with the established nurse practitioner protocols and standards of practice, and act as a resource of other clinical staff.

Qualifications: Master’s degree from an accredited college and three years of professional experience in a related field is required. It is strongly preferred the three years of experience is as an administrator in an institution of higher education, education or health related field. Other requirements include: current licensure and valid certification as a Family or Adult Specialty Advance Practice Nurse by the New Jersey State Board of Nursing and by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP); current licensure as a Registered Nurse in good standing by the New Jersey State Board of Nursing; and current Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Professional Rescuer, CPR and AED certification from either the American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Five years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner is preferred.
