Position Summary:
Monmouth University is seeking an HVAC Supervisor in the Facilities Management department.

The candidate would be expected to: supervise the day-to-day functions of the HVAC staff. Orient and trains new HVAC personnel to safe working habits and proper use of equipment. Continuously review new technology, tools and maintenance strategies to improve the overall HVAC team efficiency. Maintain good order and discipline, evaluate employee performance, provide feedback, assign tasks, establish goals, direct resources, resolve employee issues and disputes, and serve as a role model for the HVAC team.

Required Degree, License or Certifications:
Valid Automobile Driver's License in your state of principal residence

Required Skills or Software:
Must be able to utilize a variety of computer software programs in order to successfully complete assigned tasks, Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, Must be able to treat confidential and sensitive information appropriately

Required Years of Experience:

Other Requirements:
Ten years of related experience, preferably with progressive responsibility and/or supervisory experience. Possess and maintain a valid Air Conditioning Type IV Certification (Universal). Must have a valid New Jersey Black Seal License or able to obtain within 6 months. Experience with refrigeration units.

Must be experienced in all aspects of HVAC including but not limited to boiler repair, chiller repair, air handling unit repair, preventative maintenance, fan coil unit repair, refrigeration equipment repair, pneumatics, HVAC building management systems, actuator replacements, HVAC equipment troubleshooting.

High degree of attention to detail and care to prevent injury to self and others and to ensure that the HVAC staff is constantly providing an appropriate level of service to and meeting the needs of the University community.

Perform all work in strict accordance with accepted trade practices, code requirements and all safety and good housekeeping requirements. Be willing and able to use all required safety and personal protective equipment (including respiratory protection).

Be able to read and write in English and calculate mathematically. Be able to understand oral and written instructions, including Safety Data Sheet (SDS) directions, chemical product labels, equipment manuals, work orders and be able to carry out work orders as required.

Be able to drive vehicles equipped with standard transmissions. Be willing and able to respond to emergency calls after working hours. Be willing and able to work overtime as needed.

Be able to lift and move heavy objects regularly. Be able to work in multi-story buildings without elevators. Be able to climb ladders and work at heights and in confined spaces. Excellent attendance and work record.

Preferred Qualifications:
Trade or technical school graduate.
