Job Description

Candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas: Sound Recording and Mixing, Film Production, Acting, and Theatre & Performance, etc. The candidate will be required to give tutorials to students, attend meetings, supervise final year projects and internship, and organize events.

 

Job Requirement

The candidate is required to have a PhD or at least a Master’s Degree in Fine Arts (MFA) with teaching experience in a related discipline, and is expected to teach at least two of the following courses:

    Sound Recording and Mixing Motion Imaging Color Grading Principles of Photo Imaging Video Cinematography Film Editing Fundamentals of Acting History of Theatre and Performance Classic Dramatic Literature Aesthetics of Theatre and Performance Performance Design: Set, Light, Sound Performance Design: Costume and Props Directing and Producing: Advance Theatre Making Playwrighting and Dramaturgy Post-dramatic Theatre and Digital Performance Making
Successful candidates are expected to be committed to excellence in undergraduate or postgraduate teaching. Preference will be given to candidates who have professional experience in entertainment or media, e.g. working in film and/or television and having professional credits and industry connections. The candidate should be cooperative, patient, and enthusiastic.

Appointment Terms
Appointment to this position will initially be made on a fixed-term contract of two years. Commencing salaries will be commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience. Fringe benefits include housing allowance, leave and social insurance. Continuation of appointment beyond the initial term will be subject to mutual agreement

The Cinema and Television (CTV) Programme, founded in 2006, was developed in conjunction with and modelled after the curriculum of the Academy of Film of Hong Kong Baptist University, the largest and most important of its kind in the region.
