The Biology Department at Carthage College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Biology with a focus on Genetics and Cellular Biology starting August 2023. The successful candidate is expected to advance the recruitment, teaching, and mentoring of undergraduate students in the biology program through the support of existing courses and the development of courses that integrate modern best practices in inclusive learning and active pedagogy, with a commitment to the collegial and vibrant atmosphere of the department.
Primary teaching responsibilities will be courses in genetics and introductory biology, and mentoring undergraduate research in your area of expertise. Contributions to teaching and the development of new courses in the biology and general education curriculums are also of interest.
Minimum Qualifications:
- PhD in Biology
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching
- Demonstrated commitment to supporting and improving diversity, equity, and inclusion in the classroom.
