Job Description:

The Baby Development Lab at Kansas City University, overseen by our clinical department within the PsyD program, is seeking a part-time Lab Coordinator for a position starting in November 2022. The grant project focuses on the scope of studying emotion detection from facial expressions in young infants. The ideal candidate would be someone with daytime availability who is interested in research and working with infants. Compensation based at a rate of $22 an hour with a weekly time commitment around 20 hours. Hours may fluctuate slightly due to appointment scheduling and workload.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Administrative Task to include data entry and scheduling appointments
  • In Person recruitment in addition to recruitment within social media platforms
  • Conducting research appointments with infants using an eye tracker (Training Provided)
  • Represent department and the University favorably and in accordance with established Core Values and expectations
  • Perform other duties as assigned or directed to meet the goals and objectives of the organization
  • Undergraduate degree preferably in psychology or a related field with a final GPA of 3.0 or better
  • Candidate should have a flexible schedule in order to work around parent’s schedules when conducting appointments
  • Minimum of 1-year research experience. If the candidate meets all other requirements and some preferred requirements, this requirement might be waived
  • Experience with children either in an informal (e.g., as a nanny) or formal setting (i.e., conducting research)
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to details pertinent in dealing with participant data
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Motivated to participate in self-study as a part of ongoing training
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2-4 years of research experience
  • Computer Science background
  • Experienced in programming (in R, Python, etc.)
  • Experience in working with REDCap
