Duties Performed in the Usual Course of the Job
The Department of Economics and International Business invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position. Candidates should be strongly committed to quality teaching and exhibit a strong potential for successful research and peer-reviewed publications. Although candidates with specialization in any field of economics will be considered, special consideration will be given to those candidates with a strong background in business statistics and quantitative methods. The successful candidate will teach courses in business statistics and/or economics at the undergraduate ( BBA ) and graduate ( MBA ) level. Teaching load is 9 hours per semester. Service to the University and the profession is also expected.
The department values high-quality research and teaching. The department is ranked in the top 15 in Texas. The department offers BBA degrees in Economics, International Business, and it expects to offer an MS degree in Applied Economics starting in Fall 2023. The Economics and International Business programs are located within the College of Business Administration, which is AACSB accredited. http://www.shsu.edu/academics/economics-and-international-business/.
Usual Duties :
Teach courses in Business Statistics at the undergraduate, MBA, and graduate level. Teaching load is 9 hours per semester. Candidates must have a commitment to research which leads to refereed publications for this tenure-track position. Service to the University and the profession is also expected.
Educational Requirements for the Position
Ph.D. in Economics or related field. ABD candidates will be considered with an anticipated completion date before Fall 2023.
Experience Required for the Position
Candidates should be strongly committed to quality teaching and they should exhibit a strong potential for successful research in peer-reviewed publications.
Other Requirements for the Position
Evidence of scholarly research and teaching experience.
